Sweeney Todd.

I hope Sweeney Todd doesn't suck like I'm afraid it will. DeviantArt is hosting a Sweeney Todd poster contest. Sweeney's going to be so mainstream now, and it's going to be full of little Johnny Depp fans who only watched the movie because of him. Nobody's going to know about the original Mrs. Lovett or Sweeney, they'll probably go try to rent the movie and accidentally pick up the George Hearn/Angela Lansbury version and think it's crap because "oh noes, Johnny Depp isn't in it! >:O" Ergh. Sorry about the rant, but seriously, this movie could end up being crap, and the fangirls will still eat it up. At least if it really does suck, Jeff (one of Bryan's many brothers) and I can sit in the back of the theater and sing along with the movie (and embarrass anyone who goes with us, haha) I mean, most Broadway to Hollywood transitions haven't been too bad. Chicago was great. So was The Producers. And so was Sound of Music. (I should watch that again) I think the makers of the Sweeney Todd movie are just going to cater to the Hot Topic going masses and totally screw it up in the process. But that's just me. I'm not going to buy any Sweeney stuff from Hot Topic, if it ends up in there (and it will, you know it). I'm happy with my three different versions of Sweeney on DVD and my well loved Geneva Theater Guild Sweeney shirt.
